Hotel Accommodations

JCIS 2005 will be held at the Salt Lake City Marriott-City Center, the newest full service Marriott hotel in the Salt Lake City area. Located in the heart of the city's business and cultural district, the hotel is adjacent to the Gallivan Center, where guests can enjoy concerts and cultural events. The property features 359 rooms, including 17 suites, 2 dedicated private concierge floors and 15,000 square feet of conference space. All rooms have climate control, two telephones with voice mail, dual phone lines, complimentary high speed internet access, color TV, AM/FM alarm clock radio, cable movie channels, On-Command movies and guest services, hair dryer, full-size iron and ironing board, and coffeemaker. Check-in: 3:00 PM; Check-out: 12:00 PM. Parking available for $10.00 USD per day. The hotel features an indoor pool and an on-site restaurant with several other restaurants located nearby.

   Travel

Traveling to Salt Lake is simple and convenient. The city is known as the "Crossroads of the West" due to its easy access by road, rail, and air. Salt Lake City International Airport is one of the West's major hubs, served by 13 airlines offering nonstop service to over 70 destinations. It is also closer to the city it serves than nearly any other airport¡ªonly ten minutes from downtown.

To get to the Marriott City Center from the airport, take I-80 East to the City Center/600 South Exit. Follow 600 South onto State Street and turn left. Salt Lake Marriott is located 3 blocks on the left.

Once you arrive, getting around the city is easy. Utah Transit Authority provides mass transit throughout the Salt Lake area, including the airport and mountain resorts. A variety of taxi, bus, shuttle, and limousine companies provide door-to-door service to the destination of your choice. If you choose to drive, the downtown parking token makes driving and parking downtown easy.
