CIEF 2006 Call For Paper

Special Session on Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) Modeling
The 5th International Conference on Computational Intelligence in Economics and Finance

October 8-11, 2006    Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, ROC
http://www.jcis.org or http://www.aiecon.org

Computable general equilibrium (CGE) modeling is regarded as a valuable and sensible tool for analyzing policy issues in a wide rage of areas. Recent years have seen more and more CGE modeling work focused on special market mechanisms, institutional features and distortions. The emerging concerns over potential energy crisis and the need for stricter environmental regulation, however, has led the modeling approach to the integration of CGE models with other models (such as climate models and end-use energy models) and thus quest for the development of consistent theories and/or special computational techniques.

This special session aims at promoting the exchange of ideas not only among economists but also between economists conducting CGE modeling and experts on computational intelligence. Submissions that derive theories of CGE modeling, construct CGE model and apply it to policy analysis, develop techniques for linking CGE model and other types of models are all welcome. Relevant topics include, but are not limited to:

Topic:

Single-country CGE modeling
Multi-country CGE modeling
CGE model parameters estimation
Integration of CGE model with other types of model
Computation of CGE models
Computation of integrated models
Forecasting with CGE models
Game theory and CGE modeling
