The concept of a decision support system (DSS) is extremely broad and its definitions vary depending upon the author's point of view. A DSS can take many different forms and the term can be used in many different ways. On the one hand, DSS broadly as "a computer-based system that aids the process of decision making." In a more precise way, DSS is defined as an interactive, flexible, and adaptable computer-based information system, especially developed for supporting the solution of a non-structured management problem for improved decision making.
This special session aims at promoting the exchange of ideas not only concepts and operational basis for DSS but also techniques for implementing and evaluating DSS on economic and financial domain, forecasting, and analysis. Submissions that derive theories of DSS modeling, construct DSS model and apply it to financial market, develop techniques for linking DSS model and other types of models are all welcome.
