FTT 2007

12th International Conference on Fuzzy Theory & Technology

Special Session: Fuzzy Decision-Making in Industrial Engineering (Session Chair: Prof. Cengiz Kahraman; e-mail: kahramanc@itu.edu.tr)

Call For Paper

Industrial Engineering is concerned with the design, improvement, and installation of integrated systems of people, material, equipment, and energy. It draws upon specialized knowledge and skills in the mathematical, physical and social sciences together with the principles and method of engineering analysis and design to specify, predict, and evaluate the results to be obtained from such systems. Industrial engineers face many problems with incomplete and vague information in these kinds of systems. Fuzzy set theory developed by L.A. Zadeh (1965) is an excellent tool to solve these problems. Decision-making is the cognitive process of selecting a course of action from multiple alternatives. Fuzzy sets approaches in decision-making are usually most appropriate when human evaluations and the modeling of human knowledge are needed. Industrial engineering brings a significant number of applications of fuzzy set theory. The original papers on fuzzy decision-making will be accepted for this session. Please inform me the title(s) of your paper(s) and its/their authors. The deadline for the submission of your full paper(s) is the same of the regular papers: Paper Submission Deadline: 3/20/2007
