NC 2007
8th International Conference on Natural Computing
NC 2007 Call For Paper
Natural Computing refers both to natural processes interpreted as computational processes and to algorithms inspired by some metaphorical translation of natural processes into computational processes. Early manifestation of these ideas were the works on Cybernetics, that were revitalized by the application of Simulated Annealing in discrete combinatorial optimization tasks, Boltzmann Machines (that may be seen as precursors of molecular and quantum computing), neural computing and evolutionary algorithms. This field has been a fruitful source of innovation in Artificial Intelligence, Pattern Recognition, Control and Robotics. Nowadays active areas are Molecular, DNA and Quantum computing, Membrane Computing, Artificial Inmune Systems which embody the promise of future massive computation tools and of improved robust information processing systems. Applications have extended to the growing area of bioinformatics and biostatistics.
The interests of the conference track include theoretical foundations, experiments, algorithms and applications of Natural Computing.
An special issue of the journal Natural Computing may be produced from papers presented in this track.
